Latin Kings Background: The Latin Kings
is one of the largest Chicago street gangs. They specialize in
narcotics distribution, theft and intimidation. Although they
originated in Chicago, they have spread to other cities, particularly in
the Northeast United States, to include, New York, Boston, and
Philadelphia. While there are many factions of the gang, in
prison, they present a united front. They, like many prison gangs,
due to their propensity for violence, present special management
concerns for prison staff.

Information: Gold and black colors; a five point crown;
the initials ALKN (Almighty Latin King Nation); members refer to each
other as "reyes", Spanish for king.
